New and renewable Energy Minister (MNRE) Prahlad Joshi said that the DIU is a national example of adoption of renewable energy, the entire day’s electricity demand has been fulfilled by solar energy.
Joshi visited the DIU on Thursday to review his remarkable progress of the adoption of solar energy and evaluate the implementation of the Prime Minister-Surya Home: Muft Bijli Scheme.
The Chairman of the High level meeting at DIU, along with senior officials of the UT administration, to review the status of solar energy generation, current supply framework and future expansion.
The ministers criticized that in the last decade, the capital investment in the renewable energy infrastructure in the DIU has already been recovered through the supply and sale of solar energy.
He demanded a faster and more effective implementation of the Prime Minister-Suriy Home Scheme to maximize its benefits to the residents of the Union province and achieve the entire home saturation.
